The University Club of Providence is seeking a polished, professional, and service-minded Server to join our front-of-house team.
Located in the heart of Providence, the University Club is a historic private club known for exceptional hospitality, refined dining, and a high standard of personalized service. We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences and thrives in a professional, team-oriented environment.
Position Summary
The Server is responsible for providing attentive, gracious, and detail-oriented service to members and guests in a variety of club settings, including à la carte dining, private events, and special functions. The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, and understands the importance of hospitality, presentation, and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Provide warm, professional service to members and guests
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain strong knowledge of menus, specials, and club offerings
- Ensure tables are properly set, maintained, and cleared
- Work closely with kitchen and management teams to deliver a seamless dining experience
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally
- Assist with banquet and event service as needed
- Uphold the Club’s service standards, appearance standards, and culture of hospitality
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience preferred; fine dining, private club, or upscale restaurant experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Weekend and evening availability required
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn
