Join Our Team!

We have an immediate need for full – time Maintenance Technician to join the team at The Kensington at Halfmoon, one of United Group's professionally managed multi – family apartment communities located in Clifton Park, NY. Maintenance Technical Duties
  • Completes maintenance work orders – as assigned
  • Performs necessary maintenance relating to both the exterior and interiors of all buildings of the property assigned
  • Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and work materials
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all utility sources and supply lines
  • General maintenance experience includes painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mowing, plowing, etc.
  • Performs all phases of snow removal from all needed areas and maintains all appropriate equipment
  • Paints, cleans, completes maintenance items, and all other items required for the completion of the unit under renovation
  • Cleans all common areas and responsible for trash removal
Planning Oversight Communication
  • Assesses and prioritizes all work to be performed on assigned site
  • Completes daily work schedules for routine maintenance duties
  • Notifies Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager of all problems and potential issues of concern
  • Ensures quality of work duties performed
  • Handles emergency situations that may arise; and communicates all details of the incident to the Property Manager
  • Special projects and other responsibilities may be determined

Interpersonal Safety Responsibilities

  • Will be available for on-call as necessary
  • Maintains a professional and courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
  • Actively participates and follows the safety and health programs
Driving Requirements
  • A minimum of three (3) years driving experience is required if the position will be responsible for driving or considered to be a driving role

Physical Expectations Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
  • Frequent body movements including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions.
  • Frequently may be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects.
  • Potential exposure to substances such as paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc. which may be considered irritants.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions

Job Overview Requirements

  • Job Type: Maintenance Technician; $24 per hour plus Bonus Program
  • Work Hours: Full Time; Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Evening and weekend hours required as needed for emergency maintenance needs.
  • Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, painting.
  • Required Education: High School Diploma; applicable Work History.
  • Required Experience: 1-3 years of experience in residential property maintenance is preferred. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and heating systems.
  • Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level; Exceptional communication, sales, and negotiation skills; Ability to solve problems involving residents and challenging situations
