The Union League Club is a private social Club providing its members and guests with a quiet sanctuary and relief from the hustle of the city. Our clubhouse contains over 19,000 square feet of event space ranging from small private dining rooms to grand ballrooms as well as 60 overnight guest rooms. Our culinary staff has prepared meals for Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royals from around the globe. Additionally, The Club offers members and guest a robust calendar of special events and programs.

Position Description & Responsibilities:

Full-Time Operating Mechanic

Summary

The Union League Club is seeking an experienced Operation Mechanic to join our team. A successful candidate will have a strong background in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all hotel rooms and meeting rooms are well-maintained and operational.

The Operation Mechanic will report to the Chief Engineer and work collaboratively with all team members.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repair of all mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Conduct daily inspections of hotel rooms and meeting rooms to identify any issues or repairs that need to be made
• Respond promptly to any emergency repair requests from guests or staff
• Ensure that all hotel rooms and meeting rooms are properly cleaned and maintained
• Ensure compliance with safety and building codes
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely completion of all repair and maintenance tasks
• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance and repair supplies

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair
• FDNY Certifications recommended
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Must be able to work under pressure, handle difficult situations; prioritize and organize work
• Agility in multitasking and working in a face paced environment
• Cohesive team player
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed

Education: High school diploma, Trade School or equivalent work experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
