Job Description: Program Leader
Reports to: Director of Programs, After School Program Coordinator
Summary: The Program Leader position assists the Director of Youth and Community Programs in the planning, organization and implementation of a quality youth tutoring program for The Village and Lighthouse Community Learning Center programs. Works with youth between the ages of 5-18 in accordance with the Mission Statement of the Turner Foundation and CLC programs.
Community Learning Centers’:
Mission Statement - We serve a diverse community by providing an after-school program where youth receive academic support and a variety of enrichment activities necessary for holistic development.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:
- Empathetically listen and communicate for understanding. Build relationships to create small communities. Provide participants with feedback, coaching, guidance and support.
- Plan with supervisor and implement quality programming which includes, but is not limited to tutoring, sports, nutrition, art, crafts, dance, music, etc.
- Assist in planning and implementation of a quality program in accordance with the policies and philosophies of The Turner Foundation.
- Maintain proper control using constructive methods, keeping in mind each child’s individual needs.
- Plans, prepares, implements, and evaluates activities on a monthly basis.
- Assist in maintaining general cleanliness in the Community Learning Centers.
- Attends all staff meetings and trainings when applicable.
- Maintain a professional attitude with parents, staff, tenants, and children at all times.
- Continue professional growth through dialogue with supervisor and staff.
- Completes other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Actively participates and supports parent involvement activities.
- Lead by example to provide safe and effective program service.
- Have FUN!
Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively with youth, teens, adults, staff, and supervisor
- Experience working with youth/teens in a recreation and/or educational setting
- First Aid and CPR Certifications
- Must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Details:
- Part-time position.
- Between 20-25hrs per week
- General Job Hours (subject to change) - Monday-Friday: 2pm - 7pm
- Pay range: $18-20 per hour
