The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate to join our aviation team as a Project Manager III - TDIP IT Liaison Los Angeles County.
The position will serve as the liaison between Airport IT projects, Operations, and stakeholders, ensuring coordination and minimizing operational impacts through strong knowledge of LAX operations, airport technology systems, contractor management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Position Description Summary:
An experienced and operationally knowledgeable professional to serve as the liaison between Airport IT projects, Airport Operations, and key stakeholders. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment, effective communication, and coordinated execution across all parties, acting as a central point of integration between Airport IT initiatives and operational requirements.
Candidate will possess strong knowledge of airport operations at Los Angeles International Airport, along with a comprehensive understanding of airport technology systems, infrastructure, and the IT frameworks that support operational equipment. This individual will collaborate closely with internal teams, airline partners, LAWA stakeholders, and contractors to support project coordination, with a focus on identifying and mitigating operation al impacts through the application of airport operational expertise.
This position requires demonstrated experience in contractor management, stake holder engagement, and cross-functional coordination. The successful candidate will be able to translate operational needs into technology-driven solutions and maintain a broad understanding of airport equipment and systems, including their integration with IT networks and infrastructure, to support seamless implementation across multiple terminals.
Essential Job Duties:
- Serve as the primary liaison between Airport IT project teams, Airport Operations, and key stakeholders
- Facilitates alignment and communication across internal teams, airline partners, LAWA stakeholders, and contractors
- Provide timely and accurate updates on project status, milestones, risks, and dependencies
- Support coordination of IT project activities across multiple terminals to ensure consistency and awareness
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential operational impacts and support mitigation efforts through operational expertise
- Coordinate and engage with contractors to support project execution, scheduling, and compliance with operational requirements
- Participate in project meetings, site walks, and operational briefings to maintain situational awareness
- Assist in tracking project progress, action items, and deliverables to support successful implementation
- Support the integration of airport equipment and systems with IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with operational needs
- Identify risks, gaps, and coordination challenges, and escalate as appropriate
- Foster strong working relationships across terminals and stakeholder groups to support efficient project delivery
- Ensure safety performance well above industry standards
- May assume other duties as required/needed.
- Maybe required to work past regular work shift.
- Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.
Minimum Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 15 years experience, preferably on airport projects
- Proven experience in Airport Operations, preferably within a large hub environment such as Los Angeles International Airport
- Experience working in closely related fields such as airline operations, terminal management, and project management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to or direct involvement in airport IT or infrastructure projects
- Experience with LAWA is preferred for interacting with LAWA, City departments, contractors, and airlines
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or other related technical field
- Relevant professional licensure and/or certification are strongly preferred. Certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc.
Hardware/Software Knowledge:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
- Knowledge of PMWeb, Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with airport systems such as FIDS, AODB, BHS systems, kiosks, and gate/terminal operational equipment supporting day-to-day airport operations.
- Salary Range: $191,000-$196,000
