The Troubadour Hotel New Orleans is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented Director of Sales to lead all sales initiatives for our boutique lifestyle hotel.

Independent hotel experience is strongly preferred, particularly for candidates who understand the flexibility, creativity, and hands-on approach required to drive sales in a boutique or lifestyle hotel environment.
As the hotel's sales leader, you will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives designed to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall hotel revenue. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales hunter who can identify opportunities, cultivate relationships, close business, and consistently exceed goals.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve hotel revenue, occupancy, ADR, and market share goals.
- Generate new business through proactive prospecting, networking, client visits, referrals, and industry events.
- Manage, retain, and grow key corporate, group, association, SMERF, negotiated, and leisure accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across local, regional, and national markets.
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, third-party intermediaries, travel partners, and community organizations.
- Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing strategies and maximize RevPAR.
- Partner with hotel operations to ensure seamless execution of group, corporate, and special-event business.
- Conduct hotel tours, client presentations, site inspections, and sales appointments.
- Represent The Troubadour Hotel at networking events, trade shows, industry functions, and community organizations.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, forecasting, and pipeline management within the CRM system.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, account production, and business intelligence to identify opportunities for growth.
- Take a hands-on leadership approach to developing relationships, closing business, and achieving sales objectives.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager role.
- Independent hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with boutique, lifestyle, or independent hotels highly preferred.
- Experience selling full-service or lifestyle hotels required.
- Proven success achieving or exceeding revenue and sales goals across corporate, group, leisure, and other market segments.
- Strong knowledge of the New Orleans hospitality, convention, corporate, and tourism markets is highly desirable.
- Established relationships within the local business and hospitality community are a strong plus.
- Experience with CI/TY or similar hotel sales systems preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning abilities.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and highly accountable with a passion for winning new business.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to sales leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience at an independent, boutique, or lifestyle hotel.
- Existing relationships with corporate accounts, meeting planners, third-party intermediaries, travel partners, and local organizations.
- Proven ability to develop business from the ground up and create new revenue opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
