The Tree Guy is seeking a driven, knowledgeable Estimator/Sales Representative to support our growing tree care operation. This role blends field expertise, customer relationships, and strategic sales work to drive year-round revenue. Candidates with significant tree care experience (production or sales) and/or an ISA Arborist License may qualify for higher base pay.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development, Sales & Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments to expand year-round revenue.
- Acquire and retain residential, commercial, and municipal clients; document all outreach and activity in the CRM or designated digital workspace.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategic sales plans that support growth targets and market expansion.
- Assist in creating mitigation plans when sales trends shift or fall short.
- Prepare accurate contracts for residential and commercial work; negotiate and secure new short- and long-term service agreements.
- Support local brand awareness through networking, digital campaigns, events, and community engagement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value and commercial accounts, ensuring excellent service, issue resolution, and long-term satisfaction.
Proposals, Bidding & Cost Analysis
- Conduct thorough on-site assessments to determine project scope, tree conditions, hazards, and resource needs.
- Produce accurate cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and time before submitting proposals.
- Prepare professional, detailed, competitive proposals that support profitability and client satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and cost fluctuations to strengthen bidding strategies.
- Provide expert recommendations based on site conditions, safety considerations, and client budget constraints.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, contracts, and project costs for tracking and financial planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in estimating, project management, or sales within the construction or tree service industry.
- Proficiency with basic software programs for document markup and collaboration.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Knowledge of site operations, safety protocols, contracts, and cost control measures.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical information clearly to clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. This position is integral to our company's growth strategy by ensuring accurate project estimation and fostering strong client relationships through professional sales practices.
Commission Structure
- Base Pay: $50,000 salary
- Escalating Commission Structure on Completed/Paid Jobs
