Employment Specialist
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Schedule | Non-Exempt
Compensation: $23.00 commensurate with experience

At The Transition House, Inc., we believe employment changes lives. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and career-focused Employment Specialist to help individuals successfully transition back into the workforce and build long-term self-sufficiency.
In this role, you’ll work directly with Residents to develop employment goals, build job readiness skills, connect with employers, and provide ongoing coaching that supports lasting success. What You’ll Do
Workforce Development & Employment Support
- Help Residents secure and maintain meaningful employment
- Conduct assessments of skills, work history, and job readiness
- Assist with resumes, applications, interview preparation, and job search strategies
- Facilitate employment readiness training and workplace success coaching
- Support Residents in developing realistic career and reentry goals
Employer Partnerships & Job Retention
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers
- Conduct onsite and virtual job checks to support retention and compliance
- Communicate professionally with employers regarding Resident progress and workplace expectations
- Advocate for successful and appropriate employment placements
Coaching & Resident Success
- Provide encouragement, accountability, and ongoing support to Residents
- Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and program staff to improve outcomes
- Help Residents navigate workplace challenges and develop long-term stability
- Orient Residents to work release expectations and employment responsibilities
Financial Literacy Support
- Deliver budgeting and financial literacy education
- Coach Residents on personal financial responsibility and planning
- Reinforce accountability and healthy financial habits
Documentation & Program Coordination
- Maintain accurate records in WRIMS and related systems
- Track employment placements, retention, and Resident progress
- Coordinate with finance staff regarding employment verification and related documentation
- Maintain organized Resident files and schedules
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Human Services, or related field; OR
- Associate degree with two (2) years of related experience; OR
- High school diploma/GED with four (4) years of related experience
- Experience in workforce development, human services, HR, recruiting, case management, or related fields
- Valid Florida driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with justice-involved or at-risk populations
- Experience in employment placement, workforce development, or reentry services
- Knowledge of employer engagement and job retention strategies

Schedule
This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule aligned with standard business operations. No regular weekend work is required. Occasional schedule adjustments may occur based on employer visits, training support, or critical reporting deadlines.
