Job Summary
The Training Expo is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and student-centered Medical Administrative Assistant Instructor to teach our face-to-face Medical Administrative Assistant program. The instructor will provide engaging classroom instruction, support student success, and prepare learners for entry-level employment in medical front office and healthcare administrative roles.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction in Medical Administrative Assistant content
- Teach topics such as medical terminology, appointment scheduling, patient intake, customer service, medical records, office procedures, HIPAA, professionalism, insurance basics, and billing fundamentals
- Administer quizzes, tests, assignments, and final assessments
- Track attendance, participation, and academic progress
- Provide feedback, tutoring, and student support as needed
- Maintain an organized, professional classroom environment
- Communicate with the Campus Director regarding student performance, retention concerns, and program needs
- Support students with job-readiness skills, professionalism, and preparation for employment in medical office settings
- Assist with orientation, student documentation, and testing days as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working in a medical office, physician practice, clinic, hospital, or related healthcare administrative setting
- Strong knowledge of medical front office operations, scheduling, records management, patient communication, and healthcare professionalism
- Prior teaching, training, coaching, or staff development experience preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to work well with adult learners
- Medical administrative assistant certification, related healthcare credential, or comparable work experience preferred
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of electronic health records or healthcare office systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA and medical office compliance standards
- Ability to motivate and retain adult learners
- Professional demeanor and strong student support mindset
