Job Summary
The Training Expo, a vocational school in Riverdale, GA, is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant / Phlebotomy Instructor to teach adult learners in our CMA, CMA Plus, and Phlebotomy programs. Our programs are overseen by an Advisory Board that helps govern the quality of our programs and how they are delivered, so we require our instructors who will provide strong, hands-on labs.
Responsibilities
- Teach Clinical Medical Assistant and/or Phlebotomy courses in 4-hour class and lab blocks .
- Follow The Training Expo’s approved curriculum, syllabi, and lesson plans to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on labs including:
- Vital signs (especially accurate blood pressure technique)
- Core CMA skills
- Venipuncture and specimen collection (for CMA Plus/Phlebotomy)
- Use the entire class period for instruction, supervised practice, review, and Q&A.
- Provide direct supervision and coaching during labs—circulating, observing, correcting technique, and ensuring student safety.
- Administer and grade quizzes, tests, discussions and skills check-offs; enter grades in the LMS in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and documentation, including phlebotomy stick logs where applicable.
- Model and reinforce professionalism, communication, infection control, and HIPAA awareness.
- Participate in classroom and lab observations and respond professionally to feedback from the Executive Campus Director and advisory board.
Qualifications
Required:
- Recent experience working as a Medical Assistant and/or Phlebotomist in a clinical setting.
- Postsecondary training in Medical Assisting and/or Phlebotomy preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong clinical skills in vital signs, clinical procedures, and venipuncture.
Preferred:
- National certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, CPT, or equivalent).
- Prior teaching, precepting, or training experience with adult learners.
- Comfortable using a Learning Management System (LMS) and basic technology (email, PowerPoint, online grading).
- Strong communication skills and a very strong student-centered, professional attitude.

Pay: $21.65 - $26.07 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 12.0 per week
