Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, adhering to food safety and handling protocols.
- Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision to ensure timely meal production during service hours.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all food items prepared.
- Assist in inventory management by organizing supplies and reporting shortages or issues promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support meal preparation for catering events or special functions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, dietary department work, or dietary aide roles is needed.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with menu planning, meal prep, and basic cooking skills including knife techniques.
- Familiarity with restaurant or food industry environments is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to learn new culinary methods and kitchen procedures.
