Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in Water and Sewer Maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating various construction and farm machinery, with a focus on water and sewer infrastructure projects. This role involves operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support construction, maintenance, and repair activities within municipal water and sewer systems. Candidates must demonstrate mechanical knowledge, construction site experience, and the ability to handle multiple types of heavy machinery in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker vehicles to perform water/sewer maintenance tasks.
- Assist with excavation, trenching, and installation of water and sewer lines ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Support construction activities by moving materials, clearing sites, and preparing work areas for further development or repair.
- Collaborate with team members to execute projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and equipment usage.
- Follow all safety regulations related to construction sites and heavy machinery operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other relevant machinery.
- Construction site experience with a focus on water/sewer infrastructure preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to the maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for operating dump trucks, water trucks, or tanker vehicles preferred.
- Ability to operate specialized machinery including concrete mixers and farm machinery as needed.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
