What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Officer position at The Town of Tarboro?
Candidate will perform general duty law enforcement work for the Town of
Tarboro. Candidate must be 20 years of age, have a high school diploma or
GED, a N.C. driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to meet
North Carolina Criminal Justice Commission standards. Candidate must be
proficient with computers. Candidate must live within a 30 mile radius from the
corporate limits of the town. The Town provides assigned/take home vehicles
for police officers. The Police Department also provides updated equipment for
modern police practices. Excellent benefits (paid medical and dental, 6%
401K, 16.08% LEO retirement, etc.) and with holiday pay included, the entry
level salary is $55,502. Additional compensation provided for LEO
