As a critical member of The Towers’ Housekeeping Team, the Housekeeper will help lead this Value by performing the general cleaning and maintenance related tasks to ensure that The Towers are well maintained.
Some Essential Job Functions of this position are:
Dry mop floor removing completely dirt, debris, and miscellaneous matter from surface according to required frequency. Wet mop floor by completely covering floor with correct solution and removing all spillage, stains, dirt, debris and/or miscellaneous matter from fibers according to required frequency. Utilize figure 8 technique in large areas, outline areas to be wet mopped and work from farthest corner to doorway in smaller areas. Vacuum carpets removing all dust, dirt, debris and/or miscellaneous matter from fibers according to required frequency. Thoroughly clean offices (e.g. desks, file cabinets, chairs, shelves, office equipment and other furniture), walls, windows, light fixtures, ceilings, furniture, equipment, and miscellaneous surfaces removing dust, dirt, debris and/or miscellaneous matter from the surface leaving a clean appearance, without streaks, according to required frequency. Thoroughly clean and disinfect unoccupied and occupied apartments. (e.g. beds, furniture, fixtures, floors, walls, chairs, etc.) Demonstrate initiative (e.g. anticipates needs) make good use of time, set priorities and take care of routine and emergency situations in the most efficient and effective manner. Disinfect all surfaces according to required frequency and as needed. This may include pet dander and waste. Thoroughly clean and disinfect clinical areas by disinfecting all areas that come in contact with member or are exposed to potentially infectious materials. Check and properly fills dispensers so as to meet the daily needs of the users. Ensure trash, biomedical waste, white office paper, cans and bottles are packaged, transported, disposed or recycles according to established regulatory guidelines. Empty receptacles and/or pick them up according to required frequency. React appropriately to fire and emergency preparedness drills and events according to policies. Report equipment repairs to his/her supervisor as soon as they are observed. Organize, maintain and notify supervisor when supplies need to be ordered. Complete work order process to document tasks completed, materials used, etc. Maintain and use all tools and supplies in a safe manner. Leave work area and equipment clean and in good operating condition for the next co-worker. Assist co-workers, residents, visitors and volunteers in a respectful and dignified manner. Prepare vacant apartments as required. Be available for all types of maintenance duties during weather events or natural disasters. Promote an atmosphere of caring, warmth, and friendliness throughout The Towers at Tower Lane. Provide excellent customer service and refer inquiries/issues to appropriate resources. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
High School Diploma, GED, Trade School, or Vocational School degree. Minimum one year housekeeping/maintenance experience. Experience in an eldercare or geriatric environment preferred. Good verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. High degree of attention to detail. Ability to work on multiple tasks during the course of a day. Working knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment. Ability to use cleaning machines and related equipment.
