Toledo Clinic's Internal Medicine office, Primary Care Partners, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to triage patient phone calls. This position will work M-F, 8:30-5:00 in the phone room.
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary
Answer phone calls related to patient's medical problems, address questions with physicians. Follow physician/Manager verbal orders related to patient care. Put in Telephone Encounters in detail with patient's medical issues/questions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer patient telephone calls related to medical questions.
- Interact with physicians to get answers to patient questions and relay the information to patients.
- Refill medications
- Prior authorizations
- At the request of the physician, call in prescriptions
- Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc.).
- Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent telephone skills required. 90% of this position requires talking on the telephone.
- Medical background to be able to triage patient questions appropriately
- Medical Terminology
- Attention to detail and being conscientious to follow up with patients
- Must be able to work quickly and accurately
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
- Medical Assistant credential - RMA/CMA/CCMA
High School Diploma

- Previous medical office experience helpful.
