What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing/Sales Assistant position at The Tobacco Company Restaurant?
The Tobacco Company Restaurant and Club is seeking an organized, personable, and creative Marketing/Sales Assistant to join our team. In this position, you will help plan and manage all print media, radio ads, public relations, special events and social media, as well as book private and catered events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all social media (Facebook & Instagram pages for both the restaurant and TCR Club), including creating and managing social media editorial calendars
- Create marketing materials for special events or promotions (radio ads, graphics, videos, etc.)
- Coordinate and manage the VIP Ambassador program in the nightclub
- Provide support in the corporate office by answering phones, responding to guest's questions, and making reservations on their behalf using OpenTable
- Respond to inquiries for large/private events, using Total Party Planner to draft event menus and proposals
Help establish new marketing goals to insure continued growth, relevance, profitability, and vitality in the current market
- Help develop and execute marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure the profit, growth, and expansion of company products and/or services to include all current guest service bases of dinner, first floor bar, weekly entertainment, club, and catering
- Maintains relationships with key hospitality and events contacts in the Richmond region
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Some graphic design and editing skills, prior experience with Canva is a plus
- Passion for social media, marketing and engaging people, prior social media management experience preferred
- Creative, self-starter
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, or a similar field (completed or in-progress)
Typical work hours are 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday thru Friday, with occasional evening hours for special events in the nightclub. While college graduates are preferred, as this is a full-time job- current college students with flexible schedules are still welcome to apply. This is an entry-level position.
