Position Summary
The Claims Manager is responsible for the technical analysis and management of treaty reinsurance claims, including evaluating reserving adequacy, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate claim resolution.

Duties / Responsibilities
- Technical analysis and processing of treaty reinsurance claims; inclusive of independently evaluating client reserving adequacy and providing recommendations for additional case reserves as needed.
- Regular written and verbal communication with underwriters, accounting staff, management and broker representatives regarding claim-related issues.
- Audit client companies and prepare written summary of findings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 8-15 years of experience in primary, umbrella or excess claims handling.
- Reinsurance claims handling experience is strongly preferred. Industry designations and/or advanced degrees are a plus.
- Fully versed in standard casualty and professional insurance coverages and demonstrated ability to independently analyze coverage and liability issues impacting the claim cession and ability to apply analysis of underlying claims to applicable reinsurance treaty(ies).
- Experience handling asbestos and environmental and similar mass tort claim exposures is a plus.
- Strong technical and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle both volume and complex analytical issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical and critical thinking.
- Excellent computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.). SICS and ImageRight experience are a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships within the department and TRA.
Salary Range: $135,000 – $150,000 annually
Salary determinations are based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
