This role leads cross-functional coordination, customer-facing submissions (FAI/PPAP), auditable recordkeeping in PLM/PDM systems, and advanced quality analyses to ensure successful implementation of new products and process changes while mentoring and supporting other quality team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own and govern plant APQP/NPI and MOC processes for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring milestones, schedules, and customer requirements are met.
  • Lead development, maintenance, and tracking of APQP schedules and project milestones; proactively escalate risks and drive timely resolution.
  • Serve as the primary plant point-of-contact for customer FAI/PPAP submissions, approvals, and related communications; represent the plant in customer meetings as required.
  • Coordinate and execute complex first article inspections (FAI) and PPAP packages; ensure completeness and compliance with customer-specific requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and analyze process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), measurement system analyses (MSA), and other statistical studies; present findings and recommendations to leadership and customers.
  • Lead plant MOC workflows: initiate/track change requests, collect implementation documentation, manage customer acceptance processes, and ensure auditable evidence is maintained.
  • Maintain and govern product/change documentation in Timken systems (TeamCenter, CADb, ONBASE, or equivalents); ensure records meet corporate and customer audit requirements.
  • Apply and coach APQP quality tools (FMEA, control plans, process flow, MSA, capability studies) to identify risks and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Generate, maintain, and present dashboard-level status reports for leadership showing APQP/MOC progress, open actions, and key risks.
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to Quality Technicians (1 and 2); assign tasks, review work products, and verify completeness for customer submittals.
  • Lead cross-functional change implementation teams (Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Sales) to ensure robust execution of product/process launches and changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve local and corporate MOC/APQP procedures and lead implementation of approved process improvements.
  • Support internal and external audits related to NPI and change management activities.
  • May be assigned additional duties to support the plant, cross-functional teams, evolving project priorities, and business needs - including opportunities that support professional development.

Education / Technical / Functional Skills

  • 5 years' experience in manufacturing quality with progressive responsibility; demonstrated experience with APQP, PPAP/FAI, and MOC preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of GD&T, blueprints, engineering drawings, and dimensional inspection practices.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with project scheduling tools preferred.
  • Experience with PLM/PDM/document management systems (TeamCenter, ONBASE, CADb, or equivalents) preferred.
  • Project management skills: ability to develop schedules, track milestones, manage stakeholders, and drive cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to read and follow project directions, operating instructions, and customer procedure manuals; able to write reports and present technical information to small groups and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills: able to understand figures and proportions, perform statistical calculations, interpret results, solve practical problems, and apply known industry/customer standards to varied situations.
