POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth across Metro Market Media’s portfolio by systematically increasing the number of active advertisers and intentionally growing the value of each client relationship. This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role.

The RSM regularly works alongside Account Executives in the market joining client meetings, prospecting together, and supporting renewals and expansions. Success in this role requires visible leadership in the field, not desk-only management. The RSM reports to the Group Publisher and partners closely with editorial, production, and marketing teams across the Gainesville, Dawsonville, and Forsyth properties.

Success in this role is measured by sustainable, diversified revenue growth and the development of a high-performing sales team. Specifically:

  • Net-positive active advertiser growth month over month.
  • Rising average account spend across all properties.
  • Healthy new-business and expansion pipelines, with disciplined forecasting.
  • Sales teams who understand and proactively manage their account math.
  • More predictable, diversified, and durable revenue with reduced concentration risk.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Sales Manager’s responsibilities span three core areas: field leadership, revenue execution, and operational management.


Field Leadership & Player-Coach Expectations

  • Spend consistent time in the field with Account Executives on joint calls and prospecting days.
  • Model strong sales behaviors in live client situations.
  • Support high-value and strategic accounts directly.
  • Provide real-time coaching before and after client calls.
  • Personally participate in closing and expanding key accounts.


Core Revenue Responsibilities

  • Grow the number of active advertisers through disciplined prospecting.
  • Increase average account spend via multi-product solutions and longer-term agreements.
  • Manage dual pipelines: new accounts and expansion revenue.
  • Coach teams around account math, not just activity.
  • Reduce revenue concentration risk by broadening the advertiser base.


Operational Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach Account Executives across multiple properties.
  • Execute regional sales plans aligned with company goals.
  • Analyze CRM and sales data to guide coaching and strategy.
  • Build strong advertiser relationships through consistent in-market presence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as editorial, production, and marketing to align revenue execution.


QUALIFICATIONS

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales leadership, revenue strategy, or media advertising.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and the ability to translate data into coaching and strategy.
  • Demonstrated alignment with our core values.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading sales teams across multiple locations or business units.
  • Background in local media, digital advertising, or multi-product sales environments.


Physical & Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to travel regularly between Gainesville, Dawsonville, and Forsyth properties; mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability required for client meetings and community events.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
