Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plaintiff's Personal Injury Legal Assistant. to join our legal team. If you are punctual, respect attendance requirements, have a proactive approach, great organizational skills and follow through, then we want you.
Duties
- Initiate, manage and organize personal injury legal files and documents using the Cloudlex document management system with a complete knowledge and understanding of the entire personal injury claim and litigation process.
- Request and obtain hospital and medical records, police reports and various other records and reports.
- Process the entire no-fault claim from inception through EUO's and IME's.
- All case management tasks as needed, such as data entry, filing, document review, and maintaining case files for litigation matters.
- Gather pertinent information and documents from clients, insurance carriers, DMV and other governmental agencies, and other entities.
- Managing court and office calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and handling phone etiquette professionally.
- Filing Court papers.
- Requirements
- 3 years of experience (mainly plaintiff's personal injury).
- Punctuality, a great attitude and excellent attendance are essential.
- Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of all personal injury claims and litigation processes and procedures.
- Must know how to use NYSCEF.
- Must know how to initiate and process a no-fault claim and a SUM claim and arbitration petition.
- Knowledge and experience with Cloudlex very highly favored.
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to completion with constant follow up.
- Must be the type that takes the initiative and can find solutions rather than the type that needs constant hand holding.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and vendors.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
