TWC is actively seeking talented, driven and highly-productive applicants for the position of Utility Line Locate Technician to join our dynamic team. We offer a challenging and rewarding work environment along with a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.The Utility Locators are responsible for pinpointing the paths of cables, pipes and other conduits that carry utilities underground. The locators’ efforts protect underground utilities from damage during projects involving excavation.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and map location and depth of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, cable, oil and electric lines.

Document interactions, site information and utilities in organizational software.

Communicate with clients, engineers and management.

Use a variety of techniques (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to measure utilities.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED.

Six (6) months’ experience performing basic maintenance and/or construction in a water distribution, wastewater collection system, and/or any other basic related services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Basic PC skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Proficient in the use of materials, tools, and equipment commonly used in construction, maintenance, or repair of water distribution/wastewater collection systems.

Valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License.

Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical requirements include lifting/carrying up to 90 pounds occasionally; pushing a maximum force of 100 pounds; pulling a maximum force of 100 pounds.

Subject to standing, sitting, walking, climbing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling and working in cramped and strained positions for long periods of time to perform job scope.

Requires visual acuity, speech, and hearing.

Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to inclement weather; wastewater; mechanical, electrical, chemical and confined space hazards; offensive fumes; excessive noise; heavy traffic; deep excavations; and animals, snakes and poisonous insects.

May be required to comply with requirements as specified in applicable regulations for personal protective equipment and other associated, equipment.

Required to work hours other than regular schedule such as days, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call and rotating shifts.
