Fraud Case Specialist (Long-Term Temporary)

TemPositions is partnering with a prestigious university-affiliated client to add two long-term temporary Fraud Case Specialists to their growing team. This is a high-priority opportunity supporting a member-focused environment where protecting accounts, reviewing suspicious activity, and resolving fraud-related cases are key.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong fraud detection or fraud review experience, especially those who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and can balance empathy with compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review member accounts and transaction activity to identify potential fraud or suspicious behavior
• Conduct inbound and outbound member calls to verify activity and authenticate identity
• Ask detailed verification questions while handling sensitive situations with professionalism and care
• Secure accounts, document findings, and resolve fraud-related cases accurately
• Escalate higher-risk issues and complex cases as needed
• Maintain detailed notes and case documentation across multiple systems
• Use tools such as Excel, Jira, case management systems, and identity verification platforms like IDVerse
• Partner with internal teams and serve as a resource on fraud-related issues

What We’re Looking For

• Strong fraud detection, fraud review, or fraud investigation experience (top priority)
• Experience in a call center, banking, benefits, retirement, or other high-volume member service environment
• Ability to confidently speak with members and identify red flags
• Strong documentation, accuracy, and follow-through
• Comfortable navigating multiple systems and tools simultaneously
• Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Benefits or retirement administration experience is a plus

• Long-term temporary assignment (approximately 12 months)
• Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Oakland, CA
• Immediate start
• Pay: $35–$48/hr
