The Talent Mine, a leading tech recruiting firm, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chemical Process Engineer - Gas Separation on an FTE basis. This is a role with the largest recycler of any product in the US, where green manufacturing meets incredible employee loyalty and stability. If you are the kind of person that has a strong background in Chemical Engineering, specific to gas separation in manufacturing (think VPSA / PSA) and are at least mid level in your career, this is a role worth pursuing!


Overview:

The Gas Separation Process Engineer will be primarily responsible for developing process engineering designs and specifications for Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) projects and commercial proposals. You'll provide process support for the start-up and ongoing operations of our client's needs.


Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze costs and benefits of various process solutions and select optimum design cases for the system and the equipment.
  • Perform process simulations and calculations, write process specifications, and provide accurate process data to support compressors, air chiller, adsorption systems, distillation columns, cold boxes, control valves, relief valves, manual valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, pipeline measurement equipment, analyzers, silencers, cooling towers, and other air separation equipment components specifications and purchasing.
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Heat and Material Balances (H&MB).
  • Participate in P&IDs development, HAZOP, plant commissioning and start-up, technical risk analysis, safety and environmental assessments and documentation, ASU troubleshooting and investigations.
  • Ensure successful completion of assigned project phases on schedule and within budget.
  • Review technical aspects of vendor equipment proposals.
  • Review and check project specific drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Keep current with state-of-the-art industrial gas tools, design practices, methods and concepts.
  • Assist in development of department best practices, processes, procedures, tools, as well as standard specifications and data sheets.


To be qualified to earn an interview, the following areas are considered "must haves":

  • 5 years of experience in the Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption industry; you're capable of working independently, and be supervised in this niche field of engineering.
  • Professional experience in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Heat and Material Balances.
  • Working knowledge of Process Equipment and Line Sizing, material selection and calculating Utility requirements.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed (to various client sites)
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering (or related scientific degree)


TOTAL COMPENSATION = $190,000- $227,800, broken down as follows:

  • Base salary range – $135,000 - $150,000
  • Annual bonus of 28-32% over the past 5 years!
