Position Summary
The Aquatics Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Aquatics Manager with day-to-day operations, staff coordination, and instructional quality. This individual will be the go-to leader on the pool deck, ensuring smooth operations, supporting instructors, and stepping in to teach when needed. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about both aquatics and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Assist in managing daily operations across SwemSchool pool locations.
- Support the scheduling of instructors and substitute coverage.
- Oversee on-time class starts and student transitions.
- Ensure inventory is documented and supply needs are communicated.
Staff Leadership
- Supervise and support instructors during swim shifts.
- Monitor team clock-in/out procedures and reinforce schedule compliance.
- Participate in in-service training and lead on-deck meetings as needed.
Instructional Quality
- Maintain 3–4 instructional shifts per week to stay connected with curriculum delivery.
- Substitute for instructors when needed.
- Assist with implementing and managing student skills assessments.
- Ensure consistency in curriculum delivery across instructors.
Customer Experience
- Act as Manager on Deck during assigned shifts to handle escalated customer concerns.
- Serve as a cheerful and professional presence for families and students.
- Support a positive, safe, and welcoming environment on the pool deck.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience as a swim instructor, required
- Experience supervising or supporting teams in an aquatics setting, preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Evening and weekend availability required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $45,760–$49,920/year (negotiable based on experience)
