What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hiring Line Cook Sussex County NJ position at THE SUSSEX SALOON, LLC?
Position Overview: Responsible for preparing and cooking American cuisine and other meals and desserts, performing food prep tasks, maintaining food safety standards, and keeping the kitchen organized and clean. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen and enjoy creating quality food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plate meals and desserts attractively, restock food service related and ice cream supplies
- Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and portion standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, accept deliveries
- Chop, slice, dice, and prepare ingredients for service
- Prepare desserts according to menu and recipes
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils, dishes also
- Follow kitchen opening and closing checklists
- Assist with inventory and proper food storage
- Communicate effectively with all staff, maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude
- If meals are sent back, fixes the problem, positive and cooperative attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned to support kitchen operations
- Other kitchen duties, cleaning equipment and dishes as needed, prep, floor cleaning, bathroom cleaning, etc
Qualifications:
- Prior line cook and prep experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation
- Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Good knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Team player with strong communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Perform repetitive tasks comfortably
