Perioperative Care Technician

Overview
We are seeking a motivated Perioperative Care Technician to join our ambulatory surgery center team. In this vital role, you will help ensure the safety and well-being of patients throughout their surgical experience and assist in maintaining efficient workflow that prioritizes environmental cleanliness, time management and organization. Your contributions will be essential in assisting the perioperative team and enhancing the overall patient experience in our facility.

Duties

• Assist with cleaning and disinfection of equipment, patient care areas and operating rooms.
• Management of linen & scrub inventory and assists with medical supply rotation and outdating, as directed.
• Assists in patient care within scope of practice (obtaining vital signs, toileting, positioning and ambulation)
• Safely transport patients within the surgical suite and other areas in the facility.
• Biohazard & sharps container management
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
• Medical gas tank management
• Inspects and reports building or equipment issues to the administrator.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy
• Regular and Reliable Attendance

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Previous experience in a surgical setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others.
• Attention to detail
• Time management
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving patients as necessary.
