The Quality & Compliance Officer will serve in a key role ensuring that the Suquamish Tribe’s Health Division programs meet all regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with state, federal, and accreditation bodies while working closely with Health Division clinical and administrative teams to improve patient safety and service delivery. The manager will oversee survey readiness, incident reporting and risk management, to include quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that the program operates effectively and meets the highest standards of care. This role also supports staff training and process improvement to promote a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement across all health care service lines.
Your Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Master’s/Advanced Degree in Healthcare preferred.
- Two or more years’ experience in Quality Management, Compliance role, facility licensure, survey and credentialing process required.
- Experience with JCAHO/CARF accreditation and regulatory audits preferred.
Your Responsibilities
- Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
- Develops, implements, and monitors quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Conducts root cause analysis, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring findings lead to process improvements.
- Facilitates data-driven decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and reporting quality and compliance metrics.
- Oversee incident reporting and response processes, ensuring all adverse events, patient safety concerns, and compliance issues are addressed appropriately.
- Investigates violations of policies, regulations, and ethical concerns, coordinating with leadership to resolve compliance risks.
- Maintains and enforces confidentiality and privacy standards, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements.
- Develops and implements ongoing staff training programs on regulatory compliance, patient safety, and best practices in treatment.
Qualifications You’ll Bring
- Working knowledge of Regulatory Compliance.
- Two years' supervisory/management experience required, preferably in healthcare setting.
What to Expect
- Knowledge of Federal and state regulations governing Public Health & Wellness programs including Opioid Treatment Programs, SAMHSA, DEA, Medicaid, and DOH/CARF/JCAHO accreditation standards.
