Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring precise entry and timely communication with the kitchen and bar staff
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend wine pairings, and upsell specialty items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, promptly addressing any concerns or special requests to ensure a positive experience
- Clear tables promptly and efficiently, bussing as needed to maintain cleanliness and readiness for new guests
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform cashiering duties with integrity and attention to detail
- Maintain thorough knowledge of restaurant policies, food safety regulations, and sanitation procedures to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Assist with opening or closing duties, including setting up tables, restocking supplies, and ensuring the dining area is pristine at all times
- Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff, host/host team, and management to deliver exceptional guest service in a fine dining environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fine dining service or upscale restaurant environments with a strong focus on guest relations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food preparation techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest interactions
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/host or food server within the food industry or nightclub setting is advantageous
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
