About the Role
The Summit Area YMCA is looking for a dependable, safety-minded, and kid-friendly School Bus Driver to transport children in our child care and camp programs between schools, YMCA locations, and activity sites. This role plays an essential part in creating a safe, welcoming, and fun experience for our youth participants.
If you’re interested in more hours, this role may be upgraded to Full-Time by working in another department during non-driving hours—perfect for those with skills in childcare, membership services, aquatics, maintenance, or other YMCA departments.
You Might Be the Right Candidate if you:
- Have prior experience driving a school bus
- Enjoy working with children and have a friendly, approachable personality
- Hold a valid NJ Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements (or are willing and able to obtain them)
- Communicate effectively and work well with people from diverse backgrounds

Salary & Benefits:
The salary range for his role is $25 -$35 /hour, based on experience. This Part Time Bus Driver position is scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week. The current Bus Driver hours are Monday - Friday 7:00am- 9:00am, 11 - 12:00pm and 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
There is an opportunity to work an additional hours each week in another department making this a full time role with benefits. Requirements
- A current NJ Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus and Passenger endorsements.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to relate well to children and adults.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
