We are currently looking for a full-time Financial Aid Coordinator. The Financial Aid Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Sullivan University by facilitating the financial aid process and ensuring that eligible students have access to the necessary resources to pursue their educational goals. The Financial Aid Coordinator will collaborate with students, parents, and various campus departments to deliver accurate and timely financial aid packages and provide essential guidance on funding options.
Hours for this position will be 8 am-5 pm Monday thru Thursday with one late day weekly of 10 am-7 pm, Fridays from 8 am-4:30 pm, and occasional Saturdays from 9 am-1 pm.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Financial Aid Counseling:
- Provides comprehensive and personalized financial aid counseling to students and their families.
- Explains various financial aid programs, eligibility criteria, and application procedures.
- Assists students in understanding and managing their financial responsibilities.
Application Processing:
- Collaborates with the admissions office to ensure seamless coordination between admissions and financial aid processes.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stays informed about changes in financial aid regulations and policies.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Maintains all files, documentation, student notes, and data entry according to standard operating procedures.
Customer Service
- Serves as a primary point of contact for students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding financial aid inquiries.
- Addresses concerns, resolves issues, and provides excellent customer service.
Collaboration
- Collaborates with academic advisors, admissions officers, and other campus departments to provide holistic support to students.
- Participates in cross-functional teams and committees as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Offers support as a backup for fellow Financial Planning team members.
- Engages in various activities, including admissions, academics, career-related events, graduation ceremonies, and other workshops that necessitate the involvement of a financial planning representative.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as delegated.
- Preferred qualifications include an associate degree and customer service experience.
- Must be in good standing with the Department of Education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends is required.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite products.
