What are the responsibilities and job description for the GA Lottery Pre-K Assistant Teacher position at The Success Learning Academy?
The Success Learning Academy is a dedicated early childhood education center committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment where every child can thrive. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our Georgia Pre-K Program team. The GA Pre-K Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate instructional program for Pre-K students. The program is designed to help children develop the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for success in the upcoming school year.
Duties
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, lesson plans, and hands-on learning experiences.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
- Support children’s social-emotional development and encourage positive interactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom space.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and meal times.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to monitor student progress and behavior.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and team members.
- Follow all program guidelines and licensing requirements as outlined by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or higher required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working in an early childhood or educational setting.
- Knowledge of Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to pass a background check and meet all DECAL requirements.
