Job Summary/Overview:
We're seeking a high-energy sales professional to focus on new customer acquisition. This role involves daily outbound outreach, identifying and researching prospects, and effectively positioning our key products with the right customers. The Sales/Business Development Representative is responsible for expanding Stutz Company into new, high-potential industry verticals by leveraging buying patterns from existing customers. This role studies how current clients use Stutz Company's metal finishing chemicals, then identifies entirely new industries that purchase the same categories of materials for different applications. The goal: open brand-new markets, generate first-time customers, and build recurring revenue streams in industries where Stutz currently has no footprint.
1. Core Responsibilities1. Leverage Buying Patterns to Identify New Verticals
- Analyze how existing customers use Stutz Company’s metal finishing chemicals.
- Identify crossover industries that use the same chemical types for different end uses (rubber, agriculture, ceramics, precision manufacturing, industrial coatings, etc.).
- Create targeted outreach plans based on material overlap and industry demand.
2. High-Volume Hunting & Prospecting
- Conduct consistent daily outbound outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn).
- Build prospect lists that directly match crossover material applications.
- Set meetings with purchasing, engineering, production, and operations contacts.
- Maintain a strong early-stage pipeline across multiple new verticals.
3. New Account Acquisition & Onboarding
- Move prospects through the sales cycle: discovery → quoting → first order → repeat business.
- Coordinate onboarding with Operations and Purchasing to ensure smooth fulfillment.
- Provide fast, reliable follow-up to secure long-term customers.
4. CRM Execution
- Log all outreach, activities, opportunities, and deals in the CRM daily.
- Tag opportunities by vertical and application for reporting accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized pipeline for weekly sales reviews.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- New revenue generated from new verticals
- Number of new accounts opened per quarter
- Daily prospecting activity (minimum outbound expectation)
- CRM cleanliness and pipeline accuracy
- Quote-to-close conversion rate
- Retention and early-stage growth of new accounts
Skills & Experience Needed
- Proven success in hunting-style B2B sales (industrial, chemical, or manufacturing preferred).
- Ability to understand how metal finishing chemicals apply across industries.
- Strong communication and persistence; comfortable with heavy daily outreach.
- CRM discipline and consistent data entry.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new markets.
- Highly competitive and goal-oriented.
