JOB TITLE: Test TechnicianLOCATION: Tustin, CAPAY RATE: $50/hour We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.Job Details: Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)Industry: Aerospace / Defense / AviationBenefits: Medical, dental, and vision (Cigna)Perks: Bonus potential Priority access via Tier 1 supplierOpenings Nationwide: Thousands of opportunities across the U.S.Qualifying Questions:Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations?Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?Summary: Support the build, operation, and maintenance of test equipment used to verify components, subsystems, and systems prior to flight installationPerform material, qualification, and acceptance testing for spacecraft hardwareWork a day shift schedule (Monday–Thursday, 4/10)Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the test and manufacturing environmentRequirements: High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3 years of experience in testing components, subsystems, or systems (or equivalent industry experience)Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and 3D models (paper or digital format)Cable harness fabrication using wire diagrams, layout drawings, and parts listsMechanical assembly fabrication using 2D/3D models and parts listsTest asset instrumentation including strain gauges, load cells, and pressure transducersOperation of shop tools such as saws, lathes, mills, and other mechanical equipmentUse of electrical and electronic tools including soldering irons, DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and wire preparation toolsStructural or systems test executionTension/compression test machines and associated softwareKnowledge of shop floor manufacturing and inspection technologiesStrong interpersonal, verbal, and problem-solving skillsHands-on technical mindset with commitment to continuous improvementAbility to follow detailed work instructions using computer applicationsExperience working in an Agile environmentStrong safety awareness, including proper handling of hazardous materials and energized systemsMust be available to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as neededApproximately 10% travel may be requiredAbility to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and work in tight spacesAbility to lift and move objects (up to 50 lbs rarely, 20 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently)Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).Preferred Skills:Experience with environmental testing standards such as DO-160, SMC-S-016, or MIL-STD-810 (vibration, thermal, humidity, TVAC, waterproofing, proof pressure)Familiarity with data acquisition and control hardware (NI cDAQ, cRIO, PXI preferred)Experience with NI FlexLoggerPrecision measurement tooling experienceCertifications such as J-STD-001 or NASA-STD-8739.3Knowledge of quality assurance and non-destructive testing methodsTechnical report writing experienceExperience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teamsAbout Us:The Structures Company is a premier national aerospace and defense staffing agency specializing in contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire placements.
