The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Technician located in Holland, MI. We are the country’s premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped directly to our clients.
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Quality Technician in collaboration with the Operations team, will ensure customer quality expectations are met by providing support and training on Quality Standards and participating in problem-solving and improvement efforts. The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting plant wide audits of inspection and process performance, effective handling of returned products, and assisting in the containment of internal defects and supplier related defects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in problem-solving efforts through root cause investigation and data collection
- Implement process countermeasures as assigned through problem-solving teams
- Assist with the containment and disposition of non-conforming material and products
- Document supplier issues through Defective Material Reports (DMR) for disposition and resolution
- Complete incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure material and products conform to specified requirements
- Conduct audits as assigned
- Train, Coach and Mentor new and current team members in Quality Standards and Expectations
- Compile and analyze data on CCFs and other metrics as assigned
- Facilitate the Control System for Measuring Devices
- Conduct inspection of incoming products and materials as needed
- Participate in activities related to quality improvements

The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities. Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel. Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Able to use MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Able to meet deadlines and demonstrate excellent follow-through, organization, and ability to stay on task
- Able to follow directions, prioritize responsibilities, and escalate issues
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
- Be willing and able to follow all company policies
- Actively participates in all team meetings and events
- Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to The Stow Company

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift, push and pull product weighing up to 50 pounds
- Able to tolerate an environment where sawdust particles are present
- Able to communicate in an environment with a medium to high level of ambient noise
- This position requires some kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and stretching as well as handling boards of varying sizes.
- Sitting at workstation approximately 30-40% percent of work time
- Standing and walking approximately 60-70% percent of work time
- Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
- Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces
- Manufacturing environment with multiple machinery and moving parts
