What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tour Manager position at The Story House?
The Tour Manager is responsible for all aspects of the program on the road. Representing The Story House client, the Tour Manager ensures the tour runs smoothly by effectively managing the promotion, staff, and overall execution. The Tour Manager will drive a program designated vehicle (Cargo Van) within a five-state location (ME, NH, VT, NY, MA) tour, overseeing , training and managing Brand Ambassadors. The success of the program relies heavily on the Tour Manager, who will fulfill the following responsibilities and competencies.
Please note this is a contract position beginning May 25, 2026 through August 28, 2026.

Story House Duties:
- Represent The Story House, the program, and the brand professionally.
- Ensure adherence to client and program rules and regulations.
- Present a positive image, embodying leadership qualities and promoting the brand with confidence, knowledge, and
- enthusiasm.
- Effectively communicate with clients, account teams, employees, and vendors.
- On time, prepared and engaged for any assigned calls or meetings.
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for events, coordinating with event organizers, retailers, and the public.
- Regular, proactive communication with The Story House team and punctuality to scheduled activations.
- Troubleshoot, problem solve and identify solutions independently prior to escalating any issues to agency team.
Event Duties:
- Knowledgeable of the program's footprint build, processes and procedures.
- Confirm event details including location, dates, times, setup, permits, and security arrangements as applicable.
- Oversee setup, teardown, load-in, and load-out of the event footprint.
- Manage, train, and be the primary contact for on-site personnel (brand ambassadors)
- Provide coaching and motivation to ensure team members perform optimally.
- Interact with consumers to promote brand and answer questions as needed on-site.
- Oversee daily operations management to ensure safety for staff and the public.
- Maintain a clean and professional activation to ensure a positive image for the brand.
- Proactively share time sensitive, relevant information and updates with agency.
- Complete detailed event reports, including recaps, attendance tracking, and photo documentation by assigned deadlines
- Work with brand ambassadors to delegate tasks and follow through to ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned for a successful promotion.
Program Duties:
- Drive a program vehicle containing event and promotional materials to tour activations.
- Coordinate produce pick-up from local stores as needed prior to applicable events.
- Manage, maintain and monitor all assets and inventory, including product purchases when needed.
- Ability to set-up, operate, and troubleshoot set-up and onsite interactions/ activations
- Comprehensive knowledge of computers with proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and email along with the ability to quickly learn new software programs and troubleshoot minor tech related issues independently.
- Ability to perform tasks to agreed upon standards even in adverse weather conditions.
- Coordinate travel between markets.
- Communicate problems quickly to team members and management.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, weekends, and occasional hours beyond the standard 9–5
Tour Manager Requirements:
- Must be based within a 150-mile radius of Boston, MA.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
- Willingness to wear a branded uniform as required.
- Written and conversational knowledge of the English language and grammar.
- Experience working with young children, primarily grades K-6.
- Ability to complete trainings including any Food Safety test requirements by assigned deadline(s)
- Ability to travel across ME, NH, VT, NY, MA.
Education, Training, & Experience:
- Degree in a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in event management, promotions, or a similar role preferred.
- Previous tour experience preferred.
- Experience in the food industry or with food products is preferred. SERV Safe Certified a plus.
Compensation- $1,500 a week.
