Duties
- Provide attentive patient and resident care during overnight shifts, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
- Monitor vital signs, observe for changes in condition, and document medical information accurately and document accordingly.
- Assist with medication administration following proper protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to prevent falls or injuries.
- Conduct routine safety checks, respond promptly to call lights, and address patient needs with empathy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient status and care plans.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, update medical records, and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in long-term care settings including assisted living, nursing homes, or memory care facilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS) procedures.
- Familiarity with specialized care areas including Alzheimer’s/dementia care, hospice services, behavioral health, pediatric or neonatal units (PICU).
- Working knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and infectious disease management.
- Ability to handle diverse patient populations including individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges using compassionate caregiving skills.
