Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fundraising Assistant to support our organization's development efforts and to support the CEO with executive planning. This role involves assisting with donor relations, research, and campaign coordination to help advance our mission. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with CRM software, and a passion for nonprofit work. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, marketing, and relationship management within a dynamic team environment. This position will also require travel during the fall of 2026 and spring of 2027 in the Charleston area. A car, a valid driver's license, and driver's insurance is required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update donor databases using CRM software such as Raiser's Edge
- Assist in developing and executing fundraising strategies and campaigns
- Support the preparation of grant proposals and reports to secure funding
- Conduct research on potential donors, foundations, and grant opportunities
- Help organize fundraising events, outreach activities, and public relations initiatives
- In the months of October and March, reaching out to schools and hiring and requiring schools
- Manage communication with donors and stakeholders to foster strong relationships
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns
- Track and analyze fundraising metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness
- Provide excellent customer service to donors, partners, and community members
- Support strategic planning efforts by gathering data and preparing reports
Qualifications
- Experience as an assistant
- working with databases, CRM software, or fundraising platforms such as Raiser's Edge is preferred
- Strong knowledge of marketing, public relations, and research techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write compelling grant proposals and reports
- Familiarity with strategic planning processes in nonprofit settings
- Demonstrated ability in relationship management and customer service
- Experience with event coordination and campaign support is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
