What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at The Stewart Clinic?
Seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team! We are a private Internal Medicine Clinic looking for an energetic professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a desire to learn. The ideal candidate must be genuinely interested in the care and well-being of our patients and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Experience with EMR systems and direct patient care preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Escorting patients to rooms and documenting chief complaint and vitals
- Providing assistance to physician when requested
- Giving injections, taking x-rays, performing EKGs, and other in-house procedures as necessary
- Submitting referrals and prior authorizations
- Completing patient documentation/charting
- Completing medication orders as directed by physician
- Answering patient-related phone calls
- Preparing, cleaning, stocking and maintaining exam and treatment rooms
- Assisting with patient registration, check-in/check-out, and appointment scheduling
Candidate must also be willing to cross-train with front desk staff.
