Job Description
The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) to join our full-time school-based team in Waltham, MA. As a Special Education Teacher, you will collaborate with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create individualized learning experiences that foster growth, confidence, and achievement in an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license, moderate disabilities (5-12), moderate / severe disabilities certifcation
- CPI certification or willingness to certify
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- ASD experience, IEP, ABA
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and support staff
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs and goals
- Provide specialized instruction to students with a variety of learning, emotional, behavioral, and developmental disabilities
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to support academic achievement
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student success
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with families regarding student growth and educational goals
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
