School Nurse (RN)

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a School Nurse (SN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Aurora, CO for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a full-time Building Nurse role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active RN license valid in Colorado
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or three years of practical experience
• Holds a Colorado special services provider license or is currently eligible for one with the appropriate endorsement for this position 
• School Nurse Endorsement
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• 3 years of current clinical experience
• A completed Human Resources file including transcripts, student teaching verification, previous work experience
• School-based experience (preferred)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses (headaches, stomachaches, injuries)
• Monitor students with chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, seizures, allergies, mental health conditions) and implement routine and PRN medications and care per orders
• Verify medical orders, document medication administration, and safely administer routine and PRN medications
• Act as the lead responder to medical emergencies on campus
• Train staff on emergency protocols and equipment use
• Develop and update IHPs (Individualized Healthcare Plans), IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), and 504 Plans related to medical conditions; participate in meetings as needed
• Collaborate with parents and school staff regarding students with medical needs
• Conduct or assist with health screenings (vision, hearing, growth/BMI, blood pressure)
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks in accordance with state regulations
