Job Summary:
We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist to join our mental health team in Leavenworth, KS. The Licensed Psychologist will conduct psychological screenings and assessments, provide treatment planning and counseling, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff to support the mental health needs of inmates.
This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a correctional setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on review of available records and clinical interviews with inmates
- Confer with psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers, and other clinical staff to support coordinated care
- Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on inmate needs and level of functioning
- Make regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs
- Provide counseling and psychological interventions using established psychological theories and techniques
- Deliver appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions for inmates in crisis
- Consult with psychiatry, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security, and other staff to understand behavioral escalation and changes in mental health status
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university
- Current, unrestricted license to practice Psychology in the State of Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including 1 year in a comparable position preferred
Pay: $175,000.00 per year
