What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Scientist position at The Steely Group?
To perform experiments, organize data and analyze results under minimal supervision. With minimal supervision, plans, conducts or monitors experiments, records and organizes data, analyses results, generates robust and reliable data and/or Ensures that contracted studies are conducted in compliance with the respective protocol and applicable guidelines and regulations.Responsibilities:Perform library preparation and QC for NGS sequencing.Perform basic histology (sectioning, staining, imaging) on tissue samples.Monitors or follows established experimental design and protocols and performs routine tasks and studies to obtain reproducible and reliable results with limited supervisionPlans, monitors or conducts, analyzes and records experiments, and provides interpretation of dataEffectively transfers experimental methods from literature to the lab and makes modifications as necessaryDevelops and implements new protocols with moderate reviewEngages coworkers in scientific discussionsCommunicates data and interpretation to work groupSkilled at developing systems to ensure quality dataEffectively trouble-shoots equipment and experimental difficultiesContributes to internal/external reports, papers, presentations, regulatory documents, invention disclosure submissions and/or patentsParticipates in department-wide support efforts such as safety, recruiting and committeesMay train staff and/or supervise othersCoordinates and organizes resources needed to complete the taskUnderstands when to seek input and when to make independent judgmentsRequirements / Qualifications:Masters degree OR Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience Degree in Biology, BiochemistryBasic molecular biology techniques: PCR, qPCR, etc.Experience with NGS library prep and sequencing.Experience with basic histological techniques and RNA in-situ hybridization.Experience with single-cell or spatial transcriptomics.Experience in a Biopharmaceutical working environmentCompany DescriptionThe Steely Group is a national preclinical, clinical, and commercial staffing firm and certified women’s business enterprise.
