Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.
- Develop or modify application systems and procedures to optimize performance.
- Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and analysis.
- Maintain technical expertise in programming languages, databases, and platforms.
- Respond to system failures and performance issues to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance to less-experienced programmers and conduct training sessions for end users.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Education or knowledge in some or all of the following technologies:
- Java and Java Frameworks
- HTML, especially HTML5
- JavaScript
- SQLPL/SQL
- XML and XSLT
- Groovy
- C/Python/PHP
- JQuery
- Education or knowledge of Relational Database design principles (Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
- Ability to assume responsibility for less complex systems and analysis of projects involving development of subsystems
- Ability to formulate programming code in more than one programming logic
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to document systems
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems
- Ability to receive, prioritize, and complete tasks from multiple sources with minimal supervision
- Oracle application server and development tools
- Object oriented analysis and design
- ColdFusion programming language
- Education or knowledge utilizing Tortoise SVN, GitHub or similar source control repositories
- Education or knowledge in Business Intelligence or similar solution
- Education or knowledge in timeline and project management and/or implementation of business and functional requirements
- Professional or internship experiences a plus
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 annually.
- State Title: Lead Programmer/Analyst (SL-3) and is part of the United University Professions Union.
