Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of the current subject area.
- Implements course outcomes based on the master syllabus.
- Prepare and distribute an updated course outline specific to the sections taught.
- Prepares and creates lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities for students.
- Teaches courses and evaluates student performance.
- Maintains accurate student records.
- Submits pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
- Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in English. Master's degree in English or Education.
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in the following discipline: English - composition, creative writing, digital humanities, history of language, journalism, linguistics, literature, literature in translation, playwriting.
- Two or more years of experience teaching the subject at the college level.
- Demonstrated ability to engage students through inclusive, student-centered pedagogy.
- Evidence of discipline-specific scholarship, professional development, or applied experience.
- Adjunct rate of pay for the 2026-2027 Academic Year is $1,087 per contact hour
