Summary
The Event Staff is the face of The State Theatre. As the first and last people our guests interact with, you'll help create a welcoming, safe, and memorable experience. Every event is delivered by a team, and you'll play an important role in its success while working alongside the FOH Operations Manager and Event Leads.
About The State Theatre
For nearly 20 years, The State Theatre has been Centre County's home for live music and film, presenting national touring artists, local performers, and a mix of mainstream, independent, and classic films.

Where you’ll Contribute:
Depending on the event, you may contribute in one or more of the following front-of-house areas:
- Box Office
- Lobby & Guest Services
- Ticket Scanning
- Concessions
- Bar Service
- Merchandise
- Attic Venue
- Event Setup, Cleaning and Reset
Responsibilities
- Prepare assigned areas before events and restore them afterward.
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive hospitality throughout every event.
- Ticketing system, concessions, bar, and POS systems as assigned.
- Maintain clean, organized, and presentation-ready guest areas.
- Answer guest questions and assist with seating, directions, and event information.
- Follow the direction of Event Leads and the FOH Operations Manager.
- Communicate guest concerns or operational issues promptly.
- Support fellow team members to ensure a successful event.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and a strong commitment to hospitality.
- Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and attention to detail.
- Enjoys working with people and being part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, high-traffic environments.
- Experience in live entertainment hospitality or customer service is preferred, but not required.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends and some daytime hours.
- Must obtain RAMP Server/Seller training (provided by The State Theatre).

- Guests feel welcomed and cared for.
- Assigned areas remain clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
- Team members support one another throughout every event.
- Events conclude safely and successfully, and the venue is reset for the next event.
Schedule
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends. Additional daytime hours may be available based on the event schedule.
Compensation
Starting wage: $15/hour
