The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Finance and Contracts, has a full-time vacancy for an Offset Press Operator I.
Summary:
To assist in the operation of a variety of offset/digital reproduction systems such as a wide format technical document printer, plotter, scanner and related equipment, in the production of numerous and diverse printed products for the Department of Transportation along with other state agencies.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent credential.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license.
Other Requirements: Applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the hiring agency.
Trainee Option: Not applicable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience in the operation of offset duplicating equipment.

When applicable, the work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.
Responsibilities:
Operates, maintains, and performs routine troubleshooting on a variety of digital printing and reproduction equipment, including wide-format technical engineering printers, plotters, scanners, black-and-white and color digital production presses, thermal binding systems, and paper cutting equipment.
Independently reviews project requirements, determines appropriate production methods and techniques, and completes assigned print and reproduction projects accurately and within established timelines.
Produces high-quality scans, prints, and Mylar reproductions for bureau requests, including full-scale and half-scale engineering plans and technical drawings.
Prepares and distributes full-scale and half-scale bid plan sets for Public Works projects.
Produces contractor print sets and electronic copies of construction plans for awarded projects.
Scans and processes bureau “as-built” plans for electronic archival and publication on the NHDOT website.
Reviews, prioritizes, and schedules electronic production requests to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of print shop assignments.
Maintains accurate production records to support monthly billing and reporting requirements.
Provides backup support for print shop copier operations and related production activities.
