Senior Hiring Specialist

Salary: $45,060-$52,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications; DCF Salary Policy will apply.

Travel: Occasional statewide and local travel required - less than 10% of work time spent traveling.

Location: On-site at 2415 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303. (Telework is not permitted)

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional to perform as a Senior Hiring Specialist within the Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) Program at Headquarters (HQ). This senior-level role functions as a hands-on recruiter and HR subject matter expert, supporting high-volume hiring needs across program units, and team leadership role for the HQ Recruitment Team.

This position serves as a senior individual contributor with lead worker responsibilities, providing guidance, training, and quality assurance support to the Recruitment Team. The role reports to one of two ESS Recruitment Supervisors.

This position is designated as essential and may require extended or nonstandard work hours during declared emergencies, including participation in Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) operations.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of full-time professional HR experience conducting full cycle recruitment and selection activities, such as job advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, talent outreach, policy research, and handling confidential personnel information; experience using applicant tracking systems.

Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint.)

Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience performing in a formal leadership role with delegate authority and responsibilities.

Experience performing classification and compensation actions including reorganizations, position changes, pay changes, or interpreting salary policy.

Experience analyzing data, preparing reports, and presenting findings and making recommendations for improvement.

Experience with the State Personnel System (People First) or a government HR entity.

Proficiency in ServiceNow, Smartsheet, MS Visio, or Power BI software.

Notary Public certification (or a willingness to obtain).
