Minimum Qualifications:
6 years of professional experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least two years of related professional experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts internal compliant investigations involving suspected fraud, waste, or mismanagement of state funds. Coordinates activities of the Department as required by the Whistle-blower Act. Determines whether inquiries meet the standards of the Whistle-blower Act and coordinates investigations as deemed appropriate by the Inspector General.
Conducts internal complaint investigations by the Office of Inspector General (OIG), including, but not limited to personnel issues, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, employee conduct, unfair employment practices. Conducts, supervises, or coordinates inquiries, investigations, or reviews as the Inspector General deems appropriate.
Supports ongoing OIG activities, including, but not limited to receiving, processing, and logging consumer complaints. Maintains project-tracking system of complaints to ensure that all complaints received by the Office of the Inspector General receive documentation and follow-up according to accreditation requirements.
Assists in reviewing the financial reporting packages of recipients of Federal Awards and State Financial Assistance. Prepare designated checklists to document reviews completed of Florida Single Audit compliance. Advise the Department’s program areas of reported deficiencies and findings. Makes recommendations for appropriate correct action plans.
Serve as the office Accreditation Manager by reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating case files to ensure compliance with the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation Standards Manual for Inspectors General Offices. Ensures that investigations meet Accreditation Standards during each three-year reaccreditation cycle.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of: Generally accepted Accounting Principles; International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (red book); Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States; Section 20.055 and 215.97, F.S.;
Knowledge of investigative techniques and the Commission of Law Enforcement Accreditation Standards; methods of compiling and analyzing data; and correct grammar usage.
Skilled in the use of personal computers and standard software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Ability to interpret state laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and rules; review and understand financial reporting packages; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with program managers, government employees, grantees and external auditors; evaluate audit findings, recommendations and corrective action plans; and travel as required.
