We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to work at our Ruder Electric company in Kankakee, Illinois. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Serve as a key safety contact for customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies on job sites.
- Prepare and process AIA billings and Time & Material (T&M) billings, ensuring accuracy, contract compliance, and timely submission to clients.
- Maintain and generate job cost reports, tracking project expenditures, labor, materials, and subcontractor costs to support project financial performance.
- Reconcile expense reports, credit cards, gas cards, billings for customers and work performed, transactions, and/or monthly statements as well as investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Train and provide guidance to Accounting Coordinator I.
- Communicate necessary information to other stakeholders, including operations, purchasing, and finance.
- Understand and comply with company policies and procedures and identify and communicate any potential or actual violations.
- Complete month end reporting preparations, high-level billings, and manage customer requests such as credits/rebills, cost of inventory, W9s, account maintenance, etc.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper files and records.
- Complete various projects throughout the year.
- Additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM
- 3 years of accounting or relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
- Experience in the construction industry is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Billing system experience a plus.
- Strong math skills. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectively.
