What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher Assistant position at The Starting Gate Preschool?
We are currently seeking a qualified and dependable Teacher Assistant to join our preschool team for afternoon hours, Monday through Friday, year-round. This position involves helping to supervise, engage, and care for children within our preschool program in a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.
The ideal candidate has a genuine love for working with young children, along with the patience, energy, and creativity needed to support children ages 16 months to 4 years old. Responsibilities include assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising indoor and outdoor play, interacting positively with students, and helping maintain appropriate standards of care and classroom management.
Qualified applicants should:
- Have prior experience working with young children
- Be dependable, attentive, and team-oriented
- Be comfortable supervising small groups of children
- Be able to actively engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Maintain a caring, professional, and positive attitude
Fingerprinting and a background check are required for employment.
